Delete your account

You can delete your Wandror account and everything in it from inside the app, without asking anyone. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and what has to be sorted out first.

01

From the app

  1. Open Wandror and go to Profile → Settings.
  2. Tap Delete account.
  3. Read what will be removed, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete my account.

Deletion happens immediately. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it — your sessions end on every device at the same moment.

02

If you can't open the app

Email privacy@wandror.com from the address your account uses, with the subject Delete my account. We verify that the request comes from the account holder and complete it within 30 days, usually much sooner. We will tell you when it is done.

03

Save your photos first

Before you confirm, the delete screen offers to save every photo and video you uploaded — including ones on trips you have left — to your phone's photo library. It tells you how many there are and roughly how large the download is. Once the account is deleted they are gone from our servers and cannot be recovered.

04

What gets deleted

  • Your profile: name, email address, phone number, username, photo, bio, date of birth, gender, home and current city, and the coordinates behind them.
  • Your UPI payment handle.
  • Every travel document in your vault — passports, IDs and visas — including the stored files themselves.
  • Photos and videos you uploaded, and the media on trips you own.
  • Trips you own that nobody else is on, with their itineraries, checklists, packing lists and budgets.
  • Your bucket list, saved collections, travel stats, passport stamps and visit history.
  • Your friendships, group memberships and community memberships.
  • Push notification tokens and every signed-in session.

What stays, and why

Shared records that other people still need do not disappear: messages you sent in a group, and expenses you were part of in a shared ledger. They remain in those groups with your name replaced — they show as from a deleted traveller. Deleting one person's copy of a shared conversation would rewrite everyone else's history of it.

Crash reports and usage counts are kept but stripped of any link to you. We also keep a dated record that a deletion happened, with no personal data in it, so we can answer questions about it later.

06

What you need to sort out first

Two things block deletion, both because they would leave other people stuck:

  • Unsettled shared expenses. If you owe money or are owed money in any group ledger, settle up first. A deleted member with an open balance is a debt nobody can clear.
  • Trips you own that other travellers are on. Remove them from the trip, or delete the trip, first. A trip whose owner is gone cannot be edited by anyone.

The app shows you exactly which groups and trips these are. If you are the only admin of a group with other members, you do not need to do anything — the longest-standing member becomes admin automatically when you leave.

07

Deleting the app is not deleting your account

Uninstalling Wandror removes it from your phone and nothing else. Your account and data stay until you delete the account itself, by either route above.
